FAQs
Questions we hear every day!
?
How much does it cost? The exact price will depend on the offer and time frame you sign up for. As a rough idea our coaching costs around £50 a week. Your average personal training session will cost you an average of £40-£50 per hour before any add-ons. Our coaching covers everything you would receive from personal training without any of the logistical barriers. It also includes nutrition coaching, unlimited support and accountability throughout the week, an educational library, a community group… and more. Our prices are highly competitive despite the fact that the SKD Method provides a complete coaching experience in comparison.

Do I need a gym membership? Yes. Our programme is designed to help people who go to the gym. If you have a fully functioning home gym set up we can support that too - it would need to be more than a few dumbbells and kettlebells though. Please drop us a message if you’d like to explore this further.
?
How much weight can I expect to lose? Our mantra is to help you lose weight as fast as it safely possible for you. We aim to do this by reducing fat whilst building/maintaining your muscle mass. Unlike other fast weight loss methods that sacrifice your muscle for a bigger drop on the scales. It is reasonable to expect anywhere between 1-2.5lbs of loss per week on average, but some individuals can safely lose more than this per week.

What do I do if I have a holiday? Everyone’s holidays will look different. Holidays are for doing what you enjoy the most, some of our members love to go to the gym and train a few times on their holidays and continue their plans as normal. Some members have a separate plan that is adapted for them during holidays. Some take a break from training but keep active through other ways. As for your diet, we help to set your own expectations for what you want from the holiday and support you in whatever way we can to make that happen. Whatever you decide to do - you’ll have a better holiday with our support than without it. “I appreciate the permission you encouraged me to have with food whilst I was away - I needed that. It’s so nice that I can share this with you and that you understand. I would never have done this over a holiday before” ~ Tish “I enjoyed all the Spanish food and drinks, but was more mindful of what I was consuming - getting more protein and fibre where possible. I definitely handled it better than I would have before” ~ Anwen

Will I be following a meal plan? No. We don’t believe meal plans are the best option for you. However, we do provide you with meal templates and practical meal options to allow you to hit the road running from day 1. Over time we teach you how to become more flexible with your nutrition without losing your well established routine. You will have full control of the foods and meals that you eat. Using our full support you will gain more confidence as the journey goes and understand what works best for you.

Will I have to track calories? Tracking calories is a key part of our coaching. We’ll teach you how to use calorie tracking to your advantage, in a time efficient way. If you’re a little apprehensive about tracking calories check out what Carys had to say just a week in coaching with us: “Really enjoying the plan, and I’m really enjoying the food and cooking as well, I can’t believe how worried I was about going back to calorie counting, I’m really happy with how it’s going and that little bit more of variety has made all the difference to me and how well I stick to what I should be eating!”

I’m a beginner to the gym, can you help me? Awesome to hear you’re keen to start the gym! We can teach you as a beginner, but we will need you to train a minimum of 3 times per week for the results to be worthwhile. If that is doable - we will provide you with demonstration videos, coaching points and review your training videos to coach you how to lift.
